We are a small family site just 3 miles East of Thurso and 20 miles from the most Northern village of John O’Groats.
We are also 5 miles from the port of Scrabster where you can catch the North Links Ferry to the Orkney Islands, and only 15 miles from the Ferry port of Gills which also has a ferry link to the port of St Margarets Hope, on the Orkney Islands. All are within traveling distance of the caravan park.
There is a bus stop across from the site where you can catch a bus to Thurso or John O’Groats, if you would like a day off from driving. We have a few sheep and if you are here at lambing time, you will be able see the lambs and their mums.
The nearest village which is only 3 miles away from the site has a Spar shop with post office, a butcher shop, chip shop and the Castletown hotel where you can eat in or get a takeaway. Also, a petrol station. The village also has some tourist places to visit like the Castletown heritage centre and a lovely dog walk beside it, towards the main Castletown Dunnet beach.
The town of Thurso has a Jet petrol station which offers a self-serve washing machine and drying service that is only 4 miles from the site. Thurso has 3 petrol stations which do gas bottles. Also, Ross hardware store do gas bottles too.
